Recipe
Prep Time: 10-15 minutes
Bake at: 180°C (356F) for 20-25 minutes
Serves: 2
Ingredients
1 Can (400g net) Wattie's Hawke's Bay Peaches (Sliced-No Added Sugar)
2-3 tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
A Pinch Salt
1/3 tsp Cinnamon Powder
1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
150 g (One sheet) Flaky Puff Pastry (Store Bought)
1-2 tbsp Milk (your choice)
Steps
Start by pre-heating the oven at 180°C (356°F).
Grab a can of Wattie's Peaches and drain the liquid out. Transfer the peaches into a sauce pan. Then add sugar, vanilla extract, salt and cinnamon powder to the same pan and cook everything on medium to high heat.
Use a masher to mash the peaches. After 10-15 minutes of cook time, add lemon juice and turn off the heat.
Use baking paper to line your sheet pan and place a sheet of flaky puff pastry (I'm using a store-bought pastry to save time) on the paper. Roll out the sheet with a rolling pin.
Use the excess pastry removed in the step above or a new sheet of pastry, to layer on top of the bottom triangle, gently push down slightly.
Then grab a sharp knife or pizza cutter and cut branches into both sides of the triangle.
Gently grab the branches and twist into one or two turns, one by one and twist all branches moving from the bottom ones to the top.
Use your choice of milk and brush the tree.
Bake in your pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes or until slightly golden brown on the top. Sprinkle some icing sugar and cinnamon powder on top to make the tree Christmas-y!
