This is a rolled oats mix recipe for your pantry, so you can forget about opening 6 jars in the morning to make a healthy and nutritious serving of oats. This will save so much of your time, I promise! You can play around with different nuts and make multiple batches based on your taste preferences.

This recipe is neutral flavours so you can make it either sweet or savoury. Tip if you have a sweet tooth: Add cinnamon powder and your choice of sweetener. The best part I like about this blend is, to a cup or 2 of this blend, just add some butter or coconut oil and a tbsp of all-purpose flour, you have crumb ready for your crumbles! The possibilities are endless! Go crazy!🥰

Recipe

  • Prep Time: 20-25 minutes
  • Bake at: 200°C (392F) for 10-20 minutes
  • Servings: 30-40

Ingredients

For Oats blend

  • 850g Rolled Oats
  • 400g (2 Cups) Dates (pitted)
  • 300g (2 Cups) Cashews
  • 60g (1 Cup) Walnuts
  • 1/2 Cup Green Cardamom
  • 250g (1 1/2 Cups) Chia Seeds
  • 250g (1 Cups) Flaxseeds/Lin seeds
  • 200g (2 Cups) Desiccated Coconut

For Storage

  • 4L Glass Jar
  • 250ml Cup

Steps

  • Transfer rolled oats in a large baking dish and toast for 10-15 mins, give a mix to evenly toast all oats.
  • In the meantime, blend or roughly crush cashews and walnuts, set aside.
  • Roughly chop dates and set aside.
  • Gently crush cardamom and set aside.
  • Blend flaxseed to powder, this is important since our bodies can't digest the flaxseeds themselves.
  • In a big jar (I used a 4L glass jar), combine toasted rolled oats, chopped dates, crushed/chopped cashews and walnuts, green cardamom, chia seeds, powdered flax seeds, and desiccated coconut.
  • Use them for overnight oats or cook it in the morning with your choice of milk! Enjoy 10 more mins of your morning! :)
